The following fourteen retirees were present at the Staff Recognition and Retirement Award Program on Thursday, April 16, This year’s staff retirees represent 1,065 combined years of service to Ball State University Staff Retirees

Phyllis A. Dornberger 35 Years of Service Department of Elementary Education Phyllis’s career at Ball State began in 1979 Placement (Career Services) until her transfer to the Department of Elementary Education in Phyllis was the 2009 A. Jane Morton Award recipient. She retired on September 1, 2014.

Linda M. Elliott 36 Years of Service School of Music Linda came to Ball State and the School of Music in She retired on September 1, 2014.

Lori E. Etchison 33 Years of Service Registration & Academic Progress Lori began her Ball State career in University Libraries in She transferred to Registration & Academic Progress in Lori retired on June 1, 2015.

Susan E. Girton 25 Years of Service (Posthumously) Payroll & Employee Benefits Susan began her career at Ball State as a temporary. In 1988, she joined the Payroll and Employee Benefits team. Susan retired on June 1, Her husband Tim was present to accept Susan’s award.

Beth A. Hale 28 Years of Service Counseling and Health Services Beth’s full-time career at Ball State began in 1987 as a psychometric clerk in Counseling and Health Services. She retired on July 1, 2014.

Craig A. Johnson 30 Years of Service LaFollette Hall Craig came to Ball State in 1980 to work in Dining Services. He’s been employed in Housing and Residence Life since Craig retired on June 1, 2014.

Janet L. Johnson 31 Years of Service Department of Technology Janet’s full-time career at Ball State University began in 1983 in the Office of Research before transferring to the Department of Technology in Janet retired on May 31, 2014.

Denise W. Kinney 31 Years of Service University Libraries Denise came to Ball State in 1982 to work in the Bureau of Economic Education. She’s been employed in University Libraries since Denise retired on May 31, 2014.

Penny L. Nowaczyk 16 Years of Service Department of Educational Psychology Penny’s career at Ball State began in 1997 at the Center for Teaching and Technology. She has worked in the Department of Educational Psychology since Penny retired on September 1, 2014.

Linda R. Rigel 45 Years of Service University Marketing and Communications Linda came to Ball State and University Marketing and Communications, then known as Public Information Services, in Linda retired on September 1, 2014.

Susan E. Slaven 36 Years of Service Susan’s 36-year career at Ball State began at the Graduate School in 1978 and has held several positions on campus since then. Susan retired on September 1, Academic Systems

Vicki A. Stewart 15 Years of Service Emens Auditorium Vicki began her career at the university as a temporary box office assistant in She retired in September 1, 2014, as a box office supervisor.

Mike A. Williams 16 Years of Service Mike came to Ball State in 1998 as a high voltage electrician and quickly moved into a group leader position. Mike served as maintenance supervisor from 2002 until his retirement on June 1, Facilities Planning and Management

Rose M. Wright 30 Years of Service Department of Sociology Rose’s career at the university began in 1984 as a temporary secretary in Biology until her move into a full-time position in the Office of Building Better Communities, then known as Economic Development Academy. Rose retired on September 1, She has been working as a temporary employee in the BBC.
