What are the advantages and disadvantages of using home remedies for illness? By: Jose Orduna

Advantages of using home remedies People prefer home remedies than prescription medicine and they have become increasingly popular as conventional medicine. Home remedies are convenient for everyone no need for prescription or refills. CHEAP! More safer than allopathic medicine and pharmaceutical drugs. Antibiotics and chemical medicines have a lot of active ingredients which are harmful to the body, but home remedies are not dangerous. People can use remedies many times a day for different types of illnesses. Reduced risk of Wide spread availability

Disadvantages of using home remedies Takes a long time to see results People don’t know the exact reason for the illness People don’t know the right amount of dose and they can overdose. Remedies don’t work as well as pharmaceutical drugs. Poison risk associated with wild herbs Modern medicine treats sudden and serious illnesses and accidents much more effectively than herbal or alternative treatments.
