Preview of the Youth Agenda A proposal from the three communities of Belgium 21 June 2010

Team Presidency ES-BE-HU COMMON PROJECT (18 months): Structured Dialogue – Youth Employment BELGIUM (1/7/2010 – 31/12/2010): –Priorities: Youth work Youth employment The European and International agenda on Children, Youth and Children’s Rights

Belgian EU Presidency “Youth” : a close and permanent cooperation between the three communities Flanders has been assigned the leading role for “youth” (besides education, sports, environment, fisheries…) The Flemish Community will chair the Youth Council The German speaking Community will act as a spokesperson and will express the Belgian point of view during Council meetings Preparation in close and permanent cooperation with the 3 communities (administrations, National Agencies, youth researchers, national youth councils,…)

Leitmotiv 1: Youth Work Youth Work has a long tradition and history in the three communities of Belgium Youth Work (in its diversity) is well spread, developed and popular in the three communities of Belgium Youth work as “a cultural matter” in the three communities During the second half of 2010 the three communities of Belgium like to underline the importance of Youth Work and how it can contribute to all fields of action
