Presentation transcript:

 UAB Vilniaus waters - the largest water company in Lithuania, which operates not only in the city of Vilnius, but also the district, Svencionys and Vilnius district water supply and sewage networks.  The company supplies drinking water and wastewater managed about thousand. users. UAB Vilniaus water supplies only groundwater from deep wells, depth of m.

 The company serves 90 thousand. m3 of water per day and collects and treats about thousand. m3 waste water per day, water piping length - 1,598 km and sewage pipelines of about 1,128 km.  Water quality checks and controls of drinking water laboratory, and treated waste water - sewage laboratory. The company provides services to 18,131 object.

 The company collects and purifies wastewater in Vilnius district, Svencionys and Vilnius districts.  Collect and transport wastewater to sewage treatment plants operated 1,128 km of sewage networks and collectors, pumping 123 (of which 103 flats).

 UAB Vilniaus waters operates 12 wastewater treatment plants with a maximum - Vilnius wastewater treatment plant. Vilnius city center, Old Town, part of the New Antakalnio and equipped with mixed sewage disposal system, which includes waste water and rain water.  In other areas - individual system. All of Vilnius city wastewater to the effluent treatment plant, where cleaned mechanically and biologically.

The private limited company „Vilnius Waters“ Vilnius city wastewater treatment plant wastewater collected total capital city sewage network using 39 different pumping capacity. The treatment plant was started in 1965 to design. 1 July. Construction works started in Mechanical treatment plants run in July. Biological treatment plant April. The period modernize these facilities. They installed nitrogen and phosphorus removal technology. This technology provides the environmental requirements for waste water manage execution Vilnius wastewater awarded „Product of the Year“ medal June. Baltic Sea Environmental Commission removed the city of Vilnius from the Baltic Sea polluters list.

 Effluent water first passes through the bars, which hold the largest silt. After the wastewater reaches the sand trap, capturing sand. Then placed in large tanks wastewater primary clarifiers; they precipitated the so-called primary sludge. Effluent from the primary settling tanks are allowed in the aeration vessel, which in addition to an air supply, that bacteria multiply rapidly, processing of pollutants in waste water. From the aeration tank water flows into the secondary settling tank. They precipitated active sludge is fed into a bar dewatering sludge treatment, some and returned again to aerotank clean drains. Then sufficiently purified water is discharged into the river Neris. Over the years, the waste water is approximately 90 thousand tons of sludge.

 Lithuania is currently the largest wastewater treatment plant daily cleaned about 113 thousand. cubic meters of waste water, so every day is formed up to 200 tons of dewatered sewage sludge. Part of composted sludge and excess dewatered sludge is transported to the fields. Because there is not enough areas for which it would be necessary, In addition, disposal of sludge depends on meteorological conditions– sludge wastewater treatment plant sludge accumulates in the storage area.

 UAB „Vilniaus waters“ try to further reduce the remaining compost heavy metal content and reach, that it would be appropriate to use fertilizer and gardening.  Sludge and the aforementioned vegetable waste recycling is not only time-consuming but also costly process.  Vilnius city wastewater treatment plant is scheduled to use the technology to extract biogas from sludge, the sludge remains free of odor, free of harmful bacteria, and biogas can be used in energy.
