The lion dance
A deep reverberating bass announced his arrival, then a crash of cymbal.
A man in a blue silk jacket led the way. A friend? His master?
He pushed into the crowd of children. They squealed and clapped with joy
He welcomed their delight
He pushed into the school gym crowd
They tumbled onto him. A boy rode him.
And then he was up. Was it a lion truly?
Or men?
He ran and danced
And spied the cabbage and oranges. A sign of luck for the new year
Happy year of the horse. MLK school
