Operations Standard Edition includes basic MES functionality including: Work Order Execution Specifications Bill of Materials Parameter Download Data Collection Using the Standard Edition, a manufacturer can shorten up product changeover times, better understand “Actual” versus “Planned” production, and improve production consistency. Let’s look at each of these areas of improvement in more detail. Certifications Labor Management Steps Operations Software – Standard Edition (c) 2002 Invensys Systems, Inc. 15 19-Apr-17

Improve Productivity via faster product or line ‘Changeovers’ Central administration of process and product parameters Maintain Bills of Material (w/ version mgt) Product & material specs w/ min/max limits per BOM entity General recipe definitions using site specific processes Accurate equipment setup Site specific product specifications Automatic download of set points User-based parameter management Operator visibility of set point values (.NET Controls) Associate drawing, multimedia file or documents to specifications Build Operator dashboards tailored to specific operation (InTouch, .NET controls) Improve Productivity via Faster Product or Line Changeovers Key Talking Points: One aspect of improving Product or Line Changeovers is better control of process or product parameters. Central administration of this key information enables a single version of the truth. Operations Standard provides electronic Bills of Material and specifications with version control. Each product can have multiple Bills of Materials and specifications. Specifications for products and materials allow min/max limits defined on a per entity basis on a Bill of Material item. Recipes can be defined with site specific processes to ensure product consistency. Another key way of improving Changeover times is through accurate equipment setups and that starts with site specific product specifications. Specifications are a standard feature of Operations Standard. Automatic download of machine set points to PLCs can be performed with Operations Standard minimizing errors caused by the manual setup of production equipment. Using Operations Standard, operators can be provided visibility into set point values for material consumptions via a .NET control (that can include this information in HMI screens). Provide operators more information by associating a file or files for each specification that provides instructions, comments, drawing or even multimedia files demonstrating a specific task or procedure. Leverage stunning InTouch graphics to build powerful production operations dashboards tailored to individual operator information needs. (c) 2002 Invensys Systems, Inc. 19-Apr-17

Faster Changeovers – One Version of the Truth Electronic Bills of Material & Specifications Centralized administration with version control Faster Changeovers – One Version of the Truth Key Talking Points: An important aspect to improving your changeover times is to have electronic bills of materials and product and material specifications that are centrally managed. This helps everyone one in the plant read from a single script – eliminating wasted time on finding the information they need to get a new product running on a production line. (c) 2002 Invensys Systems, Inc. 19-Apr-17

Faster Changeovers – Accurate Equipment Setup Site Specific Product Specs Auto Download of Set Points Faster Changeovers – Accurate Equipment Setups Key Talking Points: Another way you can speedup changeovers is through Operations Software’s site specific product specifications and the automatic download of machine set points. If you are producing a specific product across multiple manufacturing sites you undoubtedly have variation in the type of production equipment and systems being used at each site. Operations Software allows you to create site specific product specifications to reduce product quality variation across sites. Also, because each site has its own specifications there is no need to tweak machine settings so changeovers go faster. Also, Operations Software allows machine set points stored in the product specifications to be automatically downloaded to production equipment when a production run is initiated. This speeds up the set up of machines and gets products rolling off the production line faster. (c) 2002 Invensys Systems, Inc. 19-Apr-17

Faster Changeovers… Better Operator Visibility Powerful Set of .NET Controls for Building Operator Displays Flexible Display Options InTouch Operator Third Party HMI Web Faster Changeovers… Better Operator Visibility Key Talking Points: The better operators can visualize what is happening on the production floor the faster they can get the production process up to full speed. Wonderware Operations Software provides a powerful and broad set of .NET controls for exposing production data to operators. (How many???) Wonderware offers you a very flexible choice of data and information display options including; - InTouch 10.0 - Operator (operator interface application provided w/ Operations 3.4) - 3rd Party HMI or other .NET container - Wonderware Information Server (web portal) (c) 2002 Invensys Systems, Inc. 19-Apr-17
