Specific Actions Taken United in a common cause they were once fighting under a single warlord, the Dux Bellorum. From his strategic location, Arthur had use of both Hadrian’s Wall and the Antonine Wall with a total of 36 forts. He also controlled the massive fortification of the former Sixth Legion citadel of Carlisle on the South Shore of the solway firth, on the western end of Hadrians wall. This was the primary military strong hold in the entire region.
