Aptitude (noun) Definition: Ability to learn or understand quickly. Synonym: Potential Antonym: Failure I could see aptitude in my apprentice, but he wasn’t letting it out yet; I could see that he is quite ahead of his age level of the sword.

Attentive(adjective) Definition: Give attention to something; also being considerate of others. Synonym: alert Antonym: Ignorant I was very attentive of the teacher, but I was still alert to my environment and focused on my surroundings.

Banish (verb) Definition: To force to leave a country of place; exile Synonym: exile Antonym: keep King Duncan, had to banish his most trusted Ranger, for he has done treachery and must never step foot in his kingdom again.

Barricade (noun) Definition: A temporary structure put up to block passage; an obstacle or barrier. Synonym: wall Antonym: opening The brave troopers created barricade made of their bodies to protect their king; they stood in a straight line and waited for the charge.

Barricade (verb) Definition: To block an opening or passage Synonym: Blockade Antonym: Unblock The Navy barricaded the waters, so no enemy could enter their territory. The ships had formed a straight line with weapons at the ready.

Gusto (noun) Definition: Great enjoyment; zest. Synonym: exhilaration Antonym: apathy I was full of gusto at the party, as I had plenty of enjoyment playing games.

Habitation (noun) Definition: A place in which to live; a residence. Synonym: Residence Antonym: could not find The habitation for humans, is a house, apartment etc., but animals live in the wild.

Hasten (verb) Definition: To act or move quickly; hurry; to cause something to happen more quickly. Synonym: Accelerate Antonym: lag I will hasten to finish my homework by typing it, so I can hang out with my friends.

Havoc (noun) Definition: Very great destruction or disorder. Synonym: desolation Antonym: peace As the atomic bomb hit Hiroshima, there was havoc everywhere, as destruction hit every corner of the city.

Quell (verb) Definition: To cause a feeling to be less intense; to calm or settle. Synonym: Silence Antonym: Succeed I was quelled as people tried to calm me down.

Recluse (noun) Definition: A person who lives alone and has little to do with others. Synonym: ascetic Antonym: extrovert I was a recluse when I was little, never leaving my house, and I never had any friends

Recuperate (verb) Definition: To return to normal health; to recover. Synonym: ameliorate Antonym: deteriorate After I scraped my knee, I applied antiseptic so it would recuperate quicker.

Replenish (verb) Definition: To build up a supply of something again; fill again Synonym: renew Antonym: deplete In Minecraft, I had to replenish my resources, as I had run out on building my house, furnace, and crafting table.

Cogitate (verb) Definition: To ponder or think intently Synonym: brainstorm Antonym: Ignore I cogitate really hard as I take a math test, because one mistake can lead to many.

Disheveled ( adjective) Definition: Untidy Synonym: bedraggled Antonym: neat When I got up from bed, I was disheveled from all that shifting from the previous night.
