What’s it like to be a superhero you ask? I’m Pete, also known as “The Kid Crusader” and I will try to answer all of your questions by the end of this book.

How do you get a superhero name? Think about what it is that you are protecting and then add a powerful word that hints at your super power! I came up with “Kid Crusader” because I protect kids and then I chose crusader because I have the power to change their lives.crusader

Want your own superhero name? Check out this cool website!

What does a superhero wear? A superhero needs to be comfortable. After all, we may have to fly, fight, or move in all sorts of crazy ways! I always wear my favorite blue pajamas and a red cape so that people can really see me coming…

Where does a superhero live? Some superheroes have secret homes in caves or under the ground and some superheroes live in regular houses. Since I am just a kid, I still live with my parents. They don’t believe that I’m a superhero so I don’t have to hide my top-secret equipment or disguise.

What does a superhero eat? Superheroes eat just like regular people. We try to eat healthy foods like vegetables and fruit and drink lots of water and milk. It’s important to stay healthy so that we have the energy we need to change the world! My favorite food is pizza, but I always try to eat a salad with it. My parents won’t buy soda, so I drink lots of water.

Want to know what you should eat everyday to stay healthy like a superhero? Check out this website to learn what you should eat!

What powers does a superhero have? The power a superhero has can be different for each one. Some can fly, or run really fast. Some are invisible, or have unbelievable strength. No matter what it is, we use it to fight for what we believe in. I am not the fastest or strongest superhero, but I have the power to sense when a kid is in trouble and find them quickly.

Do you want to stay in shape like a superhero? Check out this cool website about fitness!

What does a superhero do when they are not fighting crime and helping people? Most superheroes have a full time job that they go to everyday under their everyday names, like Superman working at a newspaper or Batman running his own company. Since I’m a kid, my job is to go to school and work really hard so that I can go to college and get a great job. Of course, if there is an emergency at school I am there in a second!

What does a “Kid Crusader” do? The most important part of my job as a superhero is to help kids that are in trouble or that need help making a better decision. I stay pretty busy! I’m on my way!

What’s your favorite memory as a superhero? Once I stopped a fight between two kids on the playground. They didn’t know I was watching, but I sensed it from across the playground and stopped it just in time! Both of the boys realized that they made a big mistake and should have talked out their problem instead of hitting each other. They are still friends to this day!

What’s your second favorite memory? My second favorite memory was when I helped a kid get to the hospital when he broke his leg after falling off his bike. His parents weren’t anywhere around and he was terrified.

Do the kids you help know that you’re a superhero? Every kid that I help knows me as the “Kid Crusader”. I’ve had a few close calls and almost got recognized as Pete, but luckily my disguise worked. Only a superhero would walk around in their pajamas, right?

Do your parents treat you differently as a superhero? Honestly, I’m not sure my parents believe that I’m a superhero even though I have told them that I am the “Kid Crusader”. They just smile and tell me to put on a coat over my pajamas and cape when it’s cold outside. Strange, huh???

Is there anything that I can do as a normal kid to help out like a superhero? Absolutely! Anytime you see someone in trouble, offer to help. If you see someone throw trash on the ground, pick it up. We can all help each other and our community to be safe and beautiful.

How can I find out more about how to help in my community? Click on the cool website to learn how to help in your community.

Can anyone be a superhero? I think that there is a superhero in all of us. Decide how you want to help and get out in the world and make a difference!

I hope I have answered all your superhero questions. Remember, you don’t have to be rich or super strong to make a difference in the world. Eat right, work hard, and look for ways to help others. We are all superheroes!
