Forensic Drug Analysis ON-SITE DRUG TESTS SCREENING TESTS PART 2 Forensic Drug Analysis ON-SITE DRUG TESTS SCREENING TESTS

Screening Test or Presumptive Tests A preliminary test is preformed on a substance to reduce the number of possible unknown substances A color test can give only an indication of which type of substance is present -- but they can't specifically identify the substance

Drug Detection Times DRUG CATEGORY DRUG DETECTION TIMES (DAYS) Alcohol 0-1 Days Amphetamines 2-6 Days Barbituates 3-8 Days Benzodiazepines 2-14 Days (Xanax/ Valium) Cocaine 2-5 Days Ecstacy  5-7 Days Metamphetamines 2-6 Days Methadone 2-8 Days Nicotine 2-4 Days Opiates 2- 5 Days (Opium derived drugs…Heroin…) OxyContin 2-5 Days Marijuana (THC) 14-30 Days

WHAT TEST? WHAT DRUG? Each drug test is set up to test for particular drugs. Depending on the name of the test, different drugs are tested. EXAMPLE: SAMHSA 5 Panel (AKA NIDA 5) National Institute of Drug Abuse 5 TESTS for Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates (Heroin), Phencyclidine (PCP) and Amphetamines (Speed)

Urine Drug Tests 12 drugs can be detected via urine tests. The list of ten includes marijuana. It’s the test that can be done with ease This test is the easiest to cheat on… Things test can be drugs, protein, sugars, copper, creatinine, pregnancy, ketones, calcium…and the list goes on….

RapidCHECK 12 Multi-Drug Panel Test Card The RapidCHECK® 12 Multi-Drug Panel Test Card is a simple to use, all inclusive screening test card for the detection of twelve drugs and drug metabolites simultaneously; THC (Marijuana), Cocaine, PCP, Opiates, Methamphetamines, Methadone, Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Oxycodone, MDMA (ecstasy) and Propoxyphene (PPX) in one simple test device. With this one test device, approximately 98% of illicit and prescription drugs of abuse are detected at the standard sensitivity cutoff levels established by the National Institute for Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO). This test is recommended for an all inclusive scan when drug use is suspected but the specific target drug is unknown. Results are obtained within 8 minutes and are 98% accurate when instructions are followed precisely.

One Panel Test Strip/Dip This is a single panel drug test dip that will test for one drug at a time.  We offer the following drug test dips: #DIP-AMP - Amphetamine #DIP-BAR - Barbiturates #DIP-BZO - Benzodiazepines #DIP-COC - Cocaine #DIP-THC - Marijuana #DIP-mAMP - Methamphetamines #DIP-OPI - Opiates #DIP-PCP - Phencyclidine #DIP-MTD - Methadone #DIP-MDMA - Ecstasy #DIP-OXY - Oxycodone

10 Panel Drug Test Dips This is a ten panel drug test dip that will test for ten drugs at a time.  We offer the following 10 panel drug test dip: #DIP-1001- Cocaine, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Methadone, Opiates, Phencyclidine, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines & Tricyclic Anti-depressants

12 Panel Drug Test Dips This is a twelve panel drug test dip that will test for twelve drugs at a time.  We offer the following 12 panel drug test dip: #DIP-1201 - Cocaine, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Methadone, Opiates, Oxycodone, Propoxyphene, Phencyclidine, Barbiturates, Ecstasy (MDMA) & Benzodiazepines

atHome™ Forensic Steroid Abuse Test The first accurate and affordable diagnostic anabolic steroids test for the determination of steroid abuse. SteroidConfirm™ is a forensic laboratory analysis to identify virtually all of the anabolic steroid compounds generally abused for athletic performance enhancement. The test is convenient and easy to use. A urine specimen is collected and returned to the lab.

Did they CHEAT the test? ADULTERANTS The One Step Sample Validity Test (S.V.T.) strip is a semi quantitative, color comparison screen for the detection of creatinine, nitrite, glutaraldehyde, pH, specific gravity, and oxidants/pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC) in human urine. The test is intended as a point of testing adulterant pre-screen test of urine samples prior to further testing. The One Step S.V.T. test will detect for all the commonly used methods of sample manipulation and adulteration including dilution, substitution, chemical additives and the so called commercially available "cleansing agents".

How the LAB can tell if they CHEATED? Creatinine= a waste product of creatine (dilution or a flush is known) Nitrite= this is what is in a test that alters a marijuana reading. If your urine shows nitrates, then you have altered your drug test. Glutaraldehyde= a common adulterant. There should be none present in a urine sample. If a deep purple color is present then you cheated. pH= normal urine has a pH range of 4.0-9.0 Anything outside of this range causes authorities to believe you tried to alter the test. Specific Gravity= tests for dilution. Normal range 1.003 – 1.030 Oxidants= tests for bleach and H2O2. Two common items added to urine to try to alter a test. Oxidants should not be in the urine.

Saliva Drug Test Your saliva sample is taken with the help of a sponge that’s scrubbed from the inner side of your cheeks. These tests produce quick and precise results. They are used at home and workplaces to detect marijuana and its metabolites for up to 3 days since intake. These can detect 6 drugs at a time.

NicAlert Saliva Nicotine This test is a new nicotine testing system using a saliva sample.

HAIR DRUG TEST The sample taken here is the hair cut at the scalp of your hair. The hair drug test reports the usage of drug and its metabolites for a period of 3 months (90 days) in the past. The hair drug test is believed to be very accurate and trust worthy. Even very minute amounts of drug intake can easily be detected via the hair drub tests with ease.

HairConfirm™ Forensic Hair Analysis The drug of abuse testing service is the only at home drug testing kit that provides a *history (up to several months) of current or previous drug use for the five most abused illicit drugs and drug categories: Methamphetamines including Ecstasy , Marijuana, Opiates, Cocaine and Phencyclidines (PCP) without the need for urine specimen collection. The only sample required is a small lock of the test subject's hair. One strand of hair from the scalp

Perspiration Test SWEAT TESTS are usually performed by patches that are attached to the skin and absorb sweat for 1-4 hours. The patch is then removed and taken to a lab for analysis. The main disadvantage of perspiration tests is the dependency of the amount of perspiration on the room temperature and physical activities one gets involved in.

Residue Test This is one of the painless methodologies used to test marijuana. Wipes done on the table top or on the desk can be used to detect marijuana. The main advantage is that this test is very quick and easy to perform. Before you go in for a marijuana test, understand clearly that there is no means to expedite the elimination of THC from your system. Water or special herbal tea would not do any good in this regard.
