Chinese Traditional Costumes Things to remember: 1.Chinese traditional costumes are clothes that people used to wear everyday but now they only wear them for special festival such as new year. 2.The colors of traditional costumes are mainly red, gold or blue. 3.Both boys and girls have their own kind of traditional costumes.

This is the traditional wedding costume. On the boy’s clothes there are dragons and on the girl’s there are phoenixes. Dragons and phoenixes are holy creatures in China.

This is another kind of Chinese traditional wedding costumes. They also have dragons on the man’s clothes and phoenixes on the woman’s clothes. In the picture is a white couple who is experiencing the “traditional Chinese wedding ceremony”.

In the past, these kind of costumes were very expensive, so that only the royal families could afford them. A lot of Chinese queens and princesses used to wear them.

These are the traditional costumes that men wore in the past. They were very expensive, and they were the symbol of power too. So only people from powerful or royal families could wear them.
