Lesson Learnt   Extensive Vision exercise and integration is required   Village as a whole / larger community participation needs to be sought to neutralize the adverse powers and leveraging their strengths for village development   Continuity of project personnel GO-NGO   Investment on human capital (training & exposure)   Should leverage available expertise within the project and sectoral committee may constituted to facilitate the process   Experience Exchange Programme to understand various strategies & approaches developed and practiced by different organizations in the country

Lesson Learnt   Entrepreneurship Development inputs are essential for all kind of economic ventures   Micro planning & multilevel income & employment opportunities through establishing inter-linkages should be explored for consistent returns (efficient water practices – improved seed- mixed crop-organic manure etc)  Productivity enhancement interventions (breed improvement / fodder / animal health care etc) in Animal Husbandry sector & further linkages with market should be established assist the small & marginal farmers in increasing their income   Regular interaction with beneficiaries & facilitators in inter & intra state

What has worked   GO-NGO partnership (efficiently developed partnership more than 60 NGO partners & build their capacities)   Collective efforts against poverty / group approach   Poor got voice and opportunities to be part of development   Mainstreaming of credit deprived communities Bank linkage   Women participation in poverty reduction endeavors & empowerment   Social security through life insurance coverage, covered 9876 members & settled 18 claims

What has worked   Empathical developmental approach   Increased awareness & participation in government schemes   Water conservation approach community & individual water assets noticed remarkable spin in farm productivity economic returns, conceived & executed 72 projects around water   Cluster approach Diary / Incense / Vermiculture & handloom   Assets has been retained and used productively

What has not worked?   Development is a long-term process, require long term understanding (agreement) with Government to reach the decided destination in qualitative manner   One sided load, penalty practice for delivering the task & achieving the numerical number   Extensive paper formalities for Sub Project   Even nature of Sub project in size & inputs   CC settlement procedure   Process of settling & releasing service bills payment to partner organizations (Delay & deductions)   Facilitation process early asset support to CIGs, should be given after strengthening the CIGs

What next   DPIP should make investments only on productive causes which are directly linked with livelihood issues   Community managed micro finance interventions should be initiated   Empowered of facilitation team to deliver punctual professional services to communities (Project assessment, appraisal, sanction & execution)   PRIs involvement   CIGs get advance for Sub Project, Partner organization should too get an advance against their services (at-least for staff salary) stability of service provider   Either Vard Sabha should be authorized to settle the CCs or higher community institutions / federations may be authorized in the time coming ahead for the same for recommendation of SP & Settlement

What Next   Livelihood opportunities should be recognized scientifically broadly on the basis of Detailed Resource Mapping prior to sub Project initiation   Backward & forward linkages for the core emerging sectors should be spell out to ensure sustained growth of Group Micro Enterprises GMEs and rural economy   Focus should be on farm sector and investments should be made on land development and increasing farm productivity through downsized technology application at root level   Partnership with R&D institutions for technological interventions in farm & non-farm sector
