CHAMP Information MSU Denver CHAMP Award: $1,958,663 Timeline – October 2013-September 2017 ▫Year One  Personnel, Certificate Development, Open Educational Resources (OERs), Equipment, Trainings ▫Year Two  Equipment (final), CHAMP-IAB, finish OERs, Certificate implementation, Articulation agreements ▫Year Three  Full course, certificate & articulation implementation ▫Year Four  Data Collection/Analysis

CHAMP Goals Build off Colorado’s existing and emerging manufacturing sector partnerships and career pathway work to develop employer-driven curriculum throughout the grant period; Use technology to accelerate training and reach a broad audience; Redesign the current Colorado Community College System model for credit for prior learning (CPL) to accelerate certification; Develop stackable and latticed certificates with institutional agreements between the participating community colleges and Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver).

MSU Denver’s Role Two Departmental Certificates Transfer and Articulation from CHAMP Consortium Community Colleges to MSU Denver Provide guidance to CCCS regarding CPL Purchase of new equipment

Transfer and Articulation Streamlined transfer and articulation to MSU Denver MSU Denver is committed to working with each participating community college to crosswalk their manufacturing programs so students can easily understand which course will transfer toward a bachelor’s degree at MSU Denver Stackable and latticed certificates

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Prior learning is college equivalent education acquired through: ▫Non-traditional schooling ▫Work ▫Other life experiences MSU Denver, along with the Council for Adult Education and Learning (CAEL) is assisting in building CCCS’s capacity to assess and award college-level CPL MSU Denver and CCCS will establish common CPL- specific transfer and articulation agreements
