Outstanding Care ~ Patient & Family Centered Hospital Care for Our Future Generations Preferred Model - Decision of the Board of Directors Kawagama Lake Cottagers Association AGM – July 4, 2015

2 Why MAHC is Doing This  To ensure safe, quality, sustainable health care for future generations;  Strategic Plan – Sustainable Future;  Ministry of Health requirement;  Our facilities don’t meet current standards;  Changing practices requires new and different space;  Lengthy process with approvals required Based on today’s health care planning guidelines and infection control standards, a hospital should comprise 80 % single occupancy rooms.

3 MP/MP Refresher Master Program – Reflects facility present and future service role – Outlines current and projected future programs/services over next 5/10/20 year Master Plan – Identifies physical space requirements into future – Sizing and siting – Considers building condition and potential use of existing – Defines long-term development strategy for sites

4 Steering Committee Process Board Ad-Hoc Steering Committee – 21 Members: 9 MDs, 7 Board members, 2 Foundation reps, community member, 3 admin – 18 meetings since December 2013 Committee Goal/Objective: To recommend the model that ensures safe, high-quality and sustainable health care for future generations.
