Compassion To Be or Not To Be……… That is the Question. Web Dictionary of Compassion- A feeling of wanting to help someone who is sick, hungry, in trouble, etc… :Sympathetic consciousness of others distress together with a desire to alleviate it.

Compassion= God’s Grace, Humility, Love, Connected No Compassion= Pride, No Grace, Not Connected, No Care,  Proverbs 3:34 – Surely He Scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.  James 4:6- Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.  1 Peter 5:5- Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”  Compassion is a picture of Gods Grace

“Jesus was moved with Compassion” For many reasons…..  Reasons why I might not be compassionate….  I’m human….  I just don’t CARE….. Or lack of LOVE.  To BUSY, SELF consumed, don’t have TIME…..  I don’t know the full STORY.  Not CONNECTED with the person…. or in tune with the Spirits leading.  He is God.  He is a Good Shepherd, and He CARES for His sheep.  Because He LOVES.  Because He is NOT TO BUSY for people.  He “Gets” the Big picture. He knows the STORY.  He desires us to be CONNECTED to “The Vine”.

Matthew 9:35-38  Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was MOVED WITH COMPASSION for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  Web Dic of Weary- Lacking strength, energy, or freshness because of a need for rest or sleep :Bored or annoyed by something because you have seen it, heard it, done it, etc…. Many times or for a long time.  Compassion for the Lost and weary.

Matthew 14:13-17  When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was MOVED WITH COMPASSION for them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”  Jesus heard the news about John being beheaded and He departed by Himself.  Solitude- A state or situation in which you are alone because you want to be. Jesus was always getting away to pray and be alone with God.  Disciples- Its late, not enough food,….. Excuses for SELF, SELF, SELF…  Jesus- loved, Cared, died to self, made Time, 5 Thousand were blessed by it (big picture)…. He had Compassion…

Matthew 20:29:34  Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” So JESUS HAD COMPASSION and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.  2 blind men Cried out, for Compassion, grace, mercy, healing,…Despite the threats and what the world was telling them to do. Despite how crazy healing sounded. Despite how they were looked at by others. Despite anything…. They cried out for Jesus….  Jesus stood still, He took TIME to slow down. He cared, loved and knew there story.  Jesus Heard there cry. Asked them “What do you want me to do for you?”. I believe that Jesus is asking you right now the same question, with Compassion in his heart for you.  They asked for there eyes to be opened, what is it that you are asking God for?

Mark 1:40-42  Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus, MOVED WITH COMPASSION, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.  “The Leper” CAME to Jesus. We need to Come.  “Imploring Him”. Web dic of Imploring- To make a very serious or emotional request.  “Kneeling Down to Him”. Humbling himself, looking for compassion, looking for someone who cares……  “If You are willing”. Asking for Jesus’ healing touch.  Jesus is so willing and Full of Compassion.
