CHANGING A FLAT TIRE WHY ME! I’M GOING TO BE LATE TO SCHOOL

FLAT TIRE USUALLY YOUR FLAT TIRE WILL BE AFTER YOU HAVE PARKED OVERNIGHT –HAPPENS WHEN YOU CAN’T BE LATE FOR THE MORNING IF YOU HAVE A BLOW OUT WHILE DRIVING, DON’T PANIC! BRING THE CAR TO A SAFE STOP. PULL OFF THE ROAD IN A SAFE FLAT PLACE IF POSSIBLE TURN ON HAZARD FLASHERS

BLOCK AT LEAST ONE TIRE OPPOSITE OF THE FLAT SET PARKING BRAKE

FIND YOUR JACK AND SPARE TIRE IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE THESE ARE AT, LOOK IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL –IF YOU DON’T HAVE AN OWNERS MANUAL LOOK IN THE TRUNK OR UNDER THE HOOD USUALLY THERE WILL BE INSTRUCTIONS WITH PICTURES ON HOW TO USE THE JACK

REMOVING THE WHEEL COVER HUB CAP IF EQUIPPED, REMOVE THE HUB CAP –MOST YOU HAVE TO PRY OFF –SOME ARE LOCKED ON –KEY USUALLY IN GLOVE BOX KEY

REMOVE JACK AND SPARE TIRE

GET TOOLS SUPPLIED TO REMOVE FLAT

POSITION JACK IN PROPER POSITION, RAISE ONLY A LITTLE

LOOSEN ALL LUG NUTS

RAISE JACK UNTIL TIRE IS OFF THE GROUND, REMOVE ALL LUG NUTS

REMOVE FLAT USE CARE NOT TO PUT LEGS UNDER RAISED CAR

THERE IS THE REASON FOR THE FLAT

INSTALL SPARE

SNUG DOWN NUTS

LOWER JACK UNTIL TIRE TOUCHES THE GROUND

FINISH TIGHTENING THE LUG NUTS

ONLY A LITTLE LATE

INSTALL FLAT BACK INTO TRUNK AND SECURE

OFF TO SCHOOL I WILL ONLY BE 10 MINUTES LATE

QUESTIONS?

LOOK ON SIDE-WALL OF TIRE AND NEVER EXCEED THE MAXIMUM PRESSURE

JACK BACK UP CAR AND REMOVE SPARE

REINSTALL TIRE AND WHEEL REMEMBER DON’T PUT YOU LEGS UNDER CAR

SNUG DOWN LUG NUTS

LOWER JACK SOME AND TORQUE LUG NUTS TO 80 FT. LBS.

REMOVE JACK & PUT TOOLS BACK IN CAR PROPERLY

SHOW INSTRUCTOR TO MAKE HIM SMILE ANSWER ANY OF HIS QUESTIONS.

PROPERLY INSTALL SPARE AND JACK BACK INTO CAR

IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE, YOU JUST LEARNED A NEW SKILL YOU CAN USE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
