Digital Design Suite BSc (Hons) [NEW but revision of existing] Suite of programmes: BSc Digital Design (Graphics) BSc Digital Design (3D Animation & Visualisation) BSc Digital Design (mainly aimed at Level 3 entry)

Digital Design Programmes Want to apply their creative ability to digital design solutions Expect to use computers as main tool Are prepared to learn technical and advanced software skills Aims to attract applicants who:

Entry Requirements Art & Design (or ‘creative’ subject) English (or subject to demonstrate ‘written communication’) Technical/Scientific subject (not necessarily at Higher – should demonstrate an interest & ability) Highers at BBB or equivalent (195 UCAS points)

Entry Tariffs Some students have significantly more Highers than required Some students just make the conditions required Average Entry Tariff greater than BBB

Portfolio Selection Portfolio requirements sent to all applicants who meet or will potentially meet Entry Requirements Specific requirements to evidence and a design task included Ensures portfolio selection on equal basis Some applicants opt not to submit portfolio (up to 25%) Oversubscription / Limits on Places Available (20 per programme)

Digital Design: Common Level 1 All students take the same modules Can transfer programmes during or at end of Level 1 depending on strengths and weaknesses Opportunity to ‘try’ before making specialist choice

Digital Design: Levels 2-4 ‘Graphics’ students take specialist Graphics modules ‘3D’ students take specialist 3D modules Also some modules ALL students would take: e.g. Digital Video, Motion Graphics, Research Skills Some shared themes/some specialist
