CARNIVAL!!!! February is the Carnival month. Each region has its typical devils with costumed ensembles in colorful masks. In la Vega, the devils are called Diablo's Cojuelos. The Carnival ends with a big parade down the seafront avenue. Each Sunday the groups meet in the central park. Some groups have about 15 to 30 people, including women, lawyers, engineers, etc.

About the Mask The masks are made by experts. First, they make the mold and then cover it with wet newspaper and wait.The next day, they paint and decorated.
THE COSTUMES The Custom is made with fantasy clothes and colors.
The Last Day The last day of the Carnival is February 27 th, when the Dominican Republic celebrates its independence. A Big parade of floats and Diablo's Cojuelos, moves along the seafront avenue. Everybody wears masks and has fun watching the floats and Diablo's Cojuelos.
