At the begining, the celebration of Christmas Day was purely christian. Any christian text specifies Jesus’s birthday. In the fourth century, the 25th december was chosen as Christmas Day, mainly as a substitute for the pagan celebrations which all took place this very day.
At the very begining, Santa Claus was green but in 1931, he was made to wear a red outfit because of the coca- cola advert. Since that time, this image has remained. Coca cola
The christmas manger : To represent the birth of Christ, the christmas manger was created. This manger represents a barn with some cattle such as the donkey and the ox. Also there are the Virgin Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby Jesus. The shepherds were accompanied by their sheep.
