How to thread the Sewing Machine

Winding the Bobbin Place your thread on the spool pin Pull thread around knob on opposite end of the machine Thread bobbin up through the middle out one of the holes Place bobbin on bobbin winder Push knob in. (Machine needle will not operate when knob is pushed in). It will automatically stop when it’s finished winding

Threading the Top Thread Thread it through the tension. Then down through the thread guide Up through the take up lever. Make sure you pull the thread behind the hook by the needle The thread will make a capital “N”. Make sure you thread all parts or it will not work Properly.

Threading the bobbim Hold the open part of the bobbin case toward you. Hold the bobbin so the thread comes off in the clockwise direction. Place the bobbin inside the bobbin case holding the end of the thread. Pull the thread through the slit on the side and up into the hole. Hold the bobbin by the string to see if the tension will balance the bobbin. If the tension does not hold it, ask teacher for assistance.

Turn the open part of the bobbin case away from you. Make sure the arm of the bobbin case is pointing up (toward the ceiling). Look inside the machine and you can see where the arm will fit in. Push it into place It is not complete until you here a snap. Then you will turn the hand wheel so the needle goes down once and back up. This will grab the thread on the bottom and pull it up Threading the bottom
