Workplace Health & Safety Young Worker Safety Lesson: February 17 th, 2015

In some countries, workers are not protected by any Health & Safety Laws

In Canada, there are laws to protect the rights of workers and to ensure workers know their rights and responsibilities

Approximately 3500 young workers were injured in Nova Scotia.

Most injuries happen in the retail industry and the food and beverage industry.

Unsafe and unfair work conditions are still happening.

The question is….. How do we change this? What can be done to reduce or even eliminate young worker injuries and deaths?

It is important to remember the struggles and victories of workers who came before us who fought for the rights we enjoy today.
