Who Can apply for Canadian Citizenship Anyone applying for Canadian Citizenship Must be 18 years or older Must be a Permanent Resident Must have lived in Canada for 3 years (1095 days) in the last 4 years Must understand communicating in English or French (level 4 listening and speaking) Must know about Canada and you must know about the rights and responsibilities of a Canadian Citizen Must be able to attend a ceremony and take the oath of citizenship

When you are applying for Canadian Citizenship You must not be under removal order You must not be a security risk You must not be criminally prohibited

What documents do you need You need: You need your Confirmation of Permanent Residence Form You need 2 pieces of Identification Your Social Insurance Number You need your LINC certificate Your current address along with all the addresses you have lived at in the last 4 years The names of all the places you have worked or went to school in the last 4 years Your children’s school report cards for the past 4 years

Acceptable Identification (you need 2) -a Canadian driver’s license -a Canadian health card -a copy of the biographical page of your passport/travel document, etc.

Application Processing Time It takes 24 months (2 years) for them to process your application It can take up to 35 months if there is mistake with your application

Preparing for the Citizenship Test Only those between ages Bredin Centre for Learning # St (offer classes every May, July, September and November) Next session Sept 8 th Monday and Wed evening 5:30-8:30 (3 weeks) Nov 3 rd Assist Community Services Centre Ave Sept 6-Dec 6, every Saturday 9am-12:45pm Fee:$30
