ValueJet Printing Guide A guide to optimize speed and quality on you ValueJet 1624 and ValueJet 1324 printer

Introduction The Mutoh VJ-1624 & VJ-1324 printers are capable of producing superb image quality even with the most difficult images with our new and improved print modes and effects. Banding comes in many different forms from horizontal to vertical, chromatic, dot gain, media feed adjustments to name a few. This guide will show you how to drastically reduce or even eliminate banding on you VJ-1624 and VJ-1324 printers. Quality 3 and Quality 4 High Speed print modes have been added to achieve the fastest possible speeds for higher resolution prints. All wave form effects have been optimized for the new print head in the VJ-1624 & VJ-1324 by adding new choices for speed/quality flexibility i.e. Wave 3, Fuzz 3, Fine and Fuzz 3, etc. A new family of effects have also been added: Fog 1,2,3 and Fine and Fog 1,2,3

Selecting the right Print Mode/Effect Answer these simple questions to determine the print mode best suited for your print job What type of image am I printing? What type of media am I printing? What is the expected viewing distance?

Understanding Effects Mutoh I² Technology Effects affect print speed - Effects affect image quality - Effects reduce or eliminate banding With 29 different effects to choose from in most RIP software packages, which one is the best to use? To make your choice easier all effects have been thoroughly tested by Mutoh and we have come up with a Recommended Print Mode chart to help make your selection easier. Of course you can always experiment to find your own favorite effect. When printing on your VJ-1324 or VJ-1624 printer, any effect that ends in the number 3 has been specially developed for the new print head in these models.

Understanding Effects Mutoh I² Technology How do effects affect print speeds? When “None” effect has been selected print speeds are at maximum for that print mode When “Wave, Fuzz, or Fog” is selected print speed reduces approx. 5% When “Fine & Wave or Fine and Fuzz” is selected print speed reduces approx. 20% When “Fine & Fog” is selected print speed is reduce approx. 32% For Example – Graphics 2 print mode speeds with different effects Print Mode Effect Speed Ft²/hr % Speed Reduction compared to 'None' Graphics 2 Fine & Fog 3 66.1 32% Fine & Fuzz 6 78.4 20% Wave 3 93.2 5% Fuzz 3 Fog 3 92.9 None 3 97.7 0%
