 Live 88.5 has had tremendous success in building marquee charitable events for the Live 88.5 Kids Fund. First, came the Robbie Burns Supper. Next we built Wine for Wishes. Last year, we introduced our third Kids Fund anchor event, Ottawa’s Alternative Golf Tournament.  Live 88.5 is proud to bring you the 2 nd Annual Alternative Golf Tournament. The event itself will take place on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the private, prestigious RideauView Country Club.  Net proceeds from the event will be donated to a local children’s charity via the Live 88.5 Kids Fund.  This tournament will be an “alternative” to the traditional golf tournament.  Great golf on an elite, private course with limited interruption.  Post event food stations/beverage sampling in an informal setting. No sit down dinner.  A simple greeting. But no speeches. Promise.  No prize filler. 9 incredible grand prizes. Randomly drawn prior to food arrival. Plus something for the tournament winners.  Our singular goal is to establish this event as one of the city’s elite level golf events and a cornerstone fundraising program for the Live 88.5 Kids Fund.

It features a spectacular golf experience on a championship course with beautiful facilities in a serene, rural setting.  RideauView has earned high industry praise and were recently named to national top course lists:  Score Golf Top 100 Courses in Canada (2012)  Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Courses in Canada (2013)  RideauView plays host to only four tournaments a year and has selected the Live 88.5 Alternative Golf Tournament once again this year.

 LiVE 88.5 is designed to deliver an audience of adults under 50. It’s a destination station for business leaders, decision makers and technology professionals within Ottawa. They are well educated, affluent with solid employment. They own homes, have families and live active lifestyles.  The music played on Live 88.5 identified as “alternative” represents some of the biggest musical acts in the world right now. Giant artists that in Ottawa, are played predominantly on LiVE And the content between the songs strives to give consumers information they can use… technology, stories, things to spend their money on!  In 2010, Live 88.5 decided to form the Live 88.5 Kids Fund: an arm of the radio station devoted to helping kids. A concept designed to help charitable and non profit organizations focused on children to advance their agendas and raise funds.  We are developing strategic partnerships where we can really invest our resources to make a real difference. Ottawa’s Alternative Golf Tournament is our latest successful endeavour.
