Task 3 Teacher Resource EDN113 Living and Learning With Technology Created By: Marc Papineau Amanda Novotny Joey McKenna Nicola Osborne

Our Resource The resource our group decided upon was a Travel Brochure aimed at children in Year 3. The main learning area for our Authentic Task is Humanities and Social Sciences (History and Geography) but the task also involves other learning areas such as English and Digital Technologies.

Lesson Plans Our teaching resource has been structured to be completed over eight separate lessons. Students will be placed in small groups to create and present a tourism brochure highlighting local history and significant information about a location of their choice. Software will be used to create the brochure.

Lesson Plans All lessons on this page come with lesson descriptions, activities and resources/equipment needed. We have also supplied Marking Rubrics and a Planning Matrix.

Authentic Learning/Curriculum When creating our teacher resource we made sure that we incorporated the 9 elements of authentic learning, as described by Jan Herrington, into the tasks. We also listed learning areas in the curriculum that we are targeting with our resource, they are: History, Geography, English and Digital Technologies.

Student Resources We have a Student resource page with a wide variety of Games, websites and youtube videos that the students can use to help them complete the task and have fun at the same time.

Teacher Resources Our Teachers resource page is full of Websites and Videos that teachers can use to research the task. We have also included an Assessment Rubric, teacher group record sheet and a student planning matrix in order to help guide the teacher and students.

How we worked together Collaboration Communication Reflection Observation

Team Communication Our group worked extremely well together in producing a final product especially due to the fact that we were unable to meet up due to location differences. We mainly used Gmail and Mobiles as our primary forms of contact. We used Google Drive to create and share all our documents. We also regularly updated each other on how certain parts of the assignment were coming along.

Decision Making At the beginning of the Assignment our group discussed the learning areas and topics we were interested in. This collaboration allowed us to work together and decide on the idea for our teacher resource and target audience. Subject Area: History and Geography Year Level: 3 Task: Creating a Travel Brochure We discussed all ideas with each other before making any final decisions during the creation of our wiki.

Role Allocations As we could not meet in person for this assignment, we agreed to divide the tasks evenly between us using a Team Agreement Contract shared via Google Drive. Individual tasks were assigned to each member of the group, however we also shared our work and allowed other team members to make suggestions, add or modify work to benefit our Authentic Task. Our Roles: Joey - In charge of the presentation of our group wikispace site and helping find resources. Nicola – Responsible for the Lesson Plans and Curriculum/Authentic Learning Page Marc – Created the Slides for the video, helped find resources and assisted with presentation/Hyperlinking of wiki. Amanda – In charge of narrating the video, writing the information for the home page, creating Rubric and Planning matrix and collecting resources.

Thank you! Thank you for watching and listening to our video. We hope you have enjoyed our presentation. Take care.
