South Africa has a lovely temperate climate with plenty of sunny, dry days. There is a dry and wet season. MonthMinMax January1929 February1929 March1828 April1427 May1025 June623 July623 August925 September1227 October1427 November1727 December1828

Dry Season May - September (Winter in Africa). Very little rainfall and humidity is very low. Wet Season October - April (Summer in Africa). The summer rains are usually afternoon storms and uncomfortably hot, with temperatures up to 30°C/86°F and high humidity

May - September (Winter in Africa).

May - This month brings the end of summer. Temperatures are relatively cool, typically 10°C/50°F in the morning and 26°C/79°F in the afternoon. June - August - Morning game drives in open vehicles will be cold, so it's advised to pack warm winter clothing. The average morning temperature is 6°C/42°F. Afternoons will be more pleasant with temperatures around 23-25°C/73-77°F. September & October - The heat gradually builds to about 28°C/82°F in the afternoons and the first rains bring relief from very dry conditions. Mornings are more pleasant as well, around 12°C/53°F

October - April (Summer in Africa).

October & November - It gets warmer and starts to rain more often, mostly in the afternoons. Temperatures are between 15°C/59°F in the morning and 28°C/82°F in the afternoon. December - Februay - These are the wettest months, characterized by torrential downpours in the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures are around 29°C/84°F and the humidity is high. March & April - Rainfall will decrease and it slowly gets colder. This continues in April, which has lovely clear weather and few clouds. The nights get a bit colder but are still pleasant at about 15°C/59°F. Daytime temperatures are around 28°C/82°F on and humidity drops in April, resulting in very nice weather.

Endangered any species that is in danger of extinction weather it is all or a significant portion of its range. Threatened any species that is likely to become an endangered species within the foreseeable future.

Reasons animals become endangered or threatened: 1.Present or threatened destruction, modification, or curtailment of its habitat or range; 2.Overutilization for commercial, recreational, scientific, or educational purposes; 3.Disease or predation; 4.Inadequacy of existing regulatory mechanisms; and 5.Other natural or human-made factors affecting its continued existence.

Congress passed the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in 1973, The purpose of the ESA is to protect and recover imperiled species and the ecosystems upon which they depend. It is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Commerce Department’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Under the ESA, species may be listed as either endangered or threatened All species of plants and animals, except pest insects, are eligible for listing as endangered or threatened.
