Gustav Klimt Gustav’s paintings constitute a sublime frontier between traditional and modern, figurative and non figurative. HE Created ARTWORKS MOSTLY CENTRED ON THE ‘FEMALE BODY’ WHICH WAS WHAT HE WAS KNOWN FOR PAINTING. THEY REMAIN AMOUNG THE MOST RECOGNIZED WORKS OF ART IN THE WORLD. HIS ‘FEMALE’ PAINTINGS ARE OFTEN POTRAYED IN DIFFERENT WAYS AND YOU CAN ONLY SOMETIMES SEE THE LADY IN THE PAINITING AS ITS QUITE DISUISED. Distinctive features of Gustav’s art work
Distinctive features of Jean- Michel Basquiat’s artwork Jeans artwork was cantered around street art and graffiti. He had a very messy style of artwork. He mostly created poetry, drawing and painting, and married text and image, abstraction and figuration, and historical information mixed with contemporary critique. In Basquiat’s artwork he aimed to attack on power structures and systems of racism, while his poetics were acutely political and direct in their criticism of colonialism and support for class struggle.
How has art changed? Art has had some changed but has also kept some of the techniques used from the past. Traditional art is still being taught in schools today, as well as Contempory art which has been recently introduced. Structures and building have dramatically changed and have become more modern. In old times, mostly painting and sketching was being used, today we can now do these things with technology, creating masterpieces ‘in the palm of our hand’. It is important to remember where art came from and how it evolved into something much more appreciated.
