Evaluating a STEMM Career in Mathematics I’m never gonna use this! Tic-Tac-Toe Student Activity Cards

What in the World Photo Scavenger Hunt How many snapshots can you take in the allotted time? What is this? Close-up Image Directions: Create a ‘What In the World Activity’. Complete a scavenger hunt on as many math tools as you can locate in your environment (home, school, etc) with a minimum of 8 images. Using a digital camera, take close-up photographs of as many math tools as you can find. Your image may be of just a small part or piece of the tool. Make sure the images are clear. Then take an additional photograph of the entire math tool. Now create a worksheet or powerpoint using the close-up images and present to the class as a fun test of their math tools knowledge. Be sure to include an answer key that shows the image of the entire math tool. Did you get it right? Know Your Math Facts: The first Kodak camera was equipped to take 100 exposures, and cost $25. Practice the trick on your own until you feel confident enough to teach the trick to the class. Describe how each item/example is used and how it improves or makes life easier. Present your findings to the class with a written description and photo or actual object.
