I SURVIVED THE JAPANESE TSUNAMI, 2011 by Lauren Tarshis

Setting Ben is visiting his uncle in Shogahama, Japan. First, a massive earthquake rocks the village Then, Ben is swept away by a tsunami now Ben is alone stranded in a strange country 5,335 miles from home. Can he survive the tsunami?

Main Character Ben has: a yellow long sleeve shirt, brown eyes, and blue jeans Ben is:tan, tall, young, male, and Japanese American

Side characters Harry is: short, young, five, likes star wars, is Ben's brother, tan, Japanese American Ojisan is: tall, old, male, Japanese, Ben's uncle, tan, wise, and smart Mom is: tall, adult, female, smart and Japanese American Nya (cat) has: black fur, a z shaped tail, small, scrawny, old and shrieks

Summary Ben visits his uncle Ojisan in Shohagama, Japan. An earthquake strikes and Ojisan's house is destroyed. After the earthquake a big tsunami hits and Ben is stranded in the tsunami. Then Ben is found by Ojisan and Mom Then, Mom and Ben go back to California and there is no more trouble. The End

Review I think I SURVIVED THE JAPANESE TSUNAMI, 2011 is a great book and I recommend 2-6th grade to read I SURVIVED THE JAPANESE TSUNAMI, 2011.

Favorite My favorite part of the book is when Ben survives the tsunami and is found by Ojisan and Mom.
