Content Area: SCIENCE Grade Level: 3 RD Grade Level: 3 RD Summary: In this PowerPoint presentation the students will learn about the parts of a plant, their functions and contributes to the growth of a plant. Learning Objective: Given facts and research materials, the student will be able to identify the parts of a plant and their functions with 100% accuracy. Content Standard: Standard 1 - Cells Accomplishment: SPI Identify specific parts of a plant and describe their function.

The life of a plant begins with a seed. Inside a seed is a tiny new plant. The outside of a seed has a covering called a seed coat. The outside of a seed has a covering called a seed coat. From a seed, a small root grows down into the soil. When the seed gets the right amount of water, warmth, and air, it can begin to grow creating sprouting.
