Project Nanhi Kali To ensure that the underprivileged girl child in India has access to quality school education, can complete class X, regardless of whatever trials her family may face and blossom into a socially responsible, independent and mature adult. The Objective

What you can do Sponsor a Nanhi Kali. Be her guardian. Give her the assurance that no matter what trials her family faces she will never have to drop out of school.. Sponsorship details Rs 1800 per year to sponsor a girl child from Std I - VII Rs 2500 per year to sponsor a girl child from Std VIII to X

A: Nanhi Kalis are selected based on the following criteria: Girl children enrolled in Govt Schools Family income less than Rs p.a Eldest girl child/girl child with many siblings First generation learner/ Dalit, tribal, migrant community children Girl Children with potential of being promising role models in the community

A: The Nanhi Kalis belong to areas where apart from economic constraints, cultural and social stereotypes restrict them to attend schools or influence them to drop out of schools. Q: What are the mechanisms to ensure Transparency and Accountability? A: Periodic assessment, monitoring and evaluation will be conducted to study the progress and the pattern of education imparted to the child. Quality checks will be made at all levels to ensure that the sponsorship money is well spent and the girl child gets the optimum benefit out of each rupee. Regular updates will be sent to the sponsors Sponsors can visit the project schools where the children are studying to assess the impact of program and work done
