Hip hop is a form of musical expression and artistic culture introduced by African-American communities during the 1960s in New York city. Also called rap music, hip hop is a type of modern dance music with spoken words and a steady beat played on electronic instruments.

Hip hop artists usually wear loose T- shirts with logos, baggy trousers, worn snickers and hoods or head bands.

They are also recognisible by lots of jewellery, tattos, good cars and specific way of behaviour.

Also, beat boxing, break dancing, and graffiti are connected to hip hop.

One of the most famous rappers of modern time is certainly Eminem. His birth name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, but he is world-famous by his stage name.

He was born in 1972 in Missouri, USA. As a child, he showed the interest in music and that led to his first performing, when he was only fourteen years old. After leaving school at the age of 17, he devoted himself to rap music.

But, he didn’t gain popularity until 1999, when he released his album The Slim Shady, for which he got Grammy Award for the best rap album.

All his following albums were a real success and brought him a lot of awards. In 2002, he played the main role in the movie 8 Mile.

His best songs are: Stan, The Real Slim Shady, Lose Yourself, Cleaning Out My Closet, Not Afraid, Love the Way You Lie and many others.

Famous singers who played with him are Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Rihanna, Jay-Z and others.

Eminem is one of the best selling artists who sold more than 80 million albums. This fact makes him one of the best musician of all time. Now, Eminem has got 7 albums and 11 awards.

He married twice. Both times with the same woman. They have one daughter. He also adopted two more girls.

Although he had legal and drug problems, he managed to gain popularity and become one of the most famous rappers in the world whose songs are listened by almost all people. Even those who don’t like this kind of music know at least one of his songs.
