Dyslexic?

STOP!

Don’t feel sorry for yourself just yet.

Some people regard your condition as a GIFT

WHY?

It turns out there is a flip side to your disability.

The same thinking patterns that make it hard for you to do some things actually make other tasks easier.

For example,

Dyslexics often… Have trouble breaking things (i.e. words & sentences) into parts… Find it hard to view things from left to right… Are challenged by sequential tasks… Can find paper-based tasks difficult. Have difficulty conforming to the mold… …but are great at thinking globally and understanding entire systems. …but are amazing at visualizing whole objects. …but are skilled intuitive thinkers. …but are talented at hands-on, 3-D work. …but are creative people who excel at thinking “outside the box.”

Because of these strengths, dyslexics often excel in these areas: athletics music scientific research engineering computers electronics mechanics graphic arts photography architecture interior/exterior design psychology teaching marketing and sales culinary arts woodworking carpentry performing arts

Skeptical ?

Well, check out some of the famous suspected dyslexics:

Henry Ford

Walt Disney

Andy Warhol

George Patton

Agatha Christie

Jorn Utzon

Whoopi Goldberg

and…

Pablo Picasso

Some people even argue that the list of dyslexics includes:

Leonardo da Vinci

Thomas Jefferson

and TIME Magazine’s Man of the Century…

Albert Einstein

So buck up, little tiger.

Some days might be rough,

and you might feel alone.

But, just remember, you have strengths you may not even know about.

And you’re in really good company.
