 A two-year Ontario College Diploma program, with a co-op option, designed to prepare students for positions in the challenging and exciting property and casualty insurance industry.  Students will study forms of general insurance, underwriting, claims investigation, risk analysis and contracts.  Graduates work in high-demand areas of insurance such as underwriting, claims adjusting, brokerage or agency services and risk management.

 The Canadian property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry is generally defined as including all lines of insurance other than life.  The P&C industry brings in more than $18 billion in annual premiums  More than half comes from auto insurance (51.4%)  The remainder being Property (32.5%), Liability (9.6%) as well as Excess & Surplus Lines (6.5%)

 Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) is a ten- course program, offered through the Insurance Institute of Canada which places emphasis on the integration of practical and theoretical insurance knowledge  It features concentrations on underwriting, brokers/agents and adjusters.  The program consists of ten courses: five mandatory, three applied professional and two electives which can be chosen from more than 20 available courses  Fanshawe offers students to obtain up to nine (9) credits toward their CIP

 We are the International Collegiate Professional Fraternity for students pursuing careers in risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science; and are a leader in the development and advancement of professional ideals  Basically, we are a professional network for students who want to learn effective leadership, management, and networking skills.
