CREATIVE WRITING CLUB NEWSLETTER EDITION NOVEMBER 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School No. 9 Ms. Rachel Serrano, ELT Instructor IBERO American Action League

WE DID A LOT OF RESEARCH ON GOOGLE ABOUT HOW TO CREATE A NEWSLETTER AND FOUND MANY COOL IMAGES FOR OUR WRITING PROJECTS!

WE GATHERED “DATA” INFORMATION THAT INSPIRED US TO WRITE.

WE WORKED AS A TEAM FOR IDEAS! WE READ BOOKS THAT HELPED US PRACTICE WRITING OUR OWN STORIES!

WE LEARNED ABOUT OURSELVES BY CREATING FUN COLLAGES!

THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM FOR CREATIVITY! SOME STUDENTS CREATED A PERSONAL STORY BOOK BY CUTTING & PASTING IMAGES OUT OF MAGAZINES! OTHERS WORKED ON THE SAME CONCEPT ON A WORD DOCUMENT!

COLLAGES OF THINGS WE LIKE HELPED US TELL OUR OWN STORIES!

WE LEARNED NEW THINGS ABOUT THE LIFE OF DR. KING AND WATCHED A COOL MOVIE ABOUT HIS LIFE BEFORE WRITING HIS BIO!

We were REPORTERS! We interviewed our School Principal – Ms. Jackson!

We took a group picture with Ms. Jackson & Ms. Rachel for our newsletter! Young School 9!

OH, WE DID SO MUCH MORE! WE PLAYED GAMES ON THE COMPUTER, HAD FUN WITH WORD 2013 – AND LEARNED TO INSERT IMAGES, ADD ALL KINDS OF BORDERS, COLORS, AND FONTS TO OUR WRITING! BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY… WE MADE NEW FRIENDS!

SO KIDS … CONSIDER JOINING THE CREATIVE WRITING CLUB! WRITING INCLUDES MANY MORE THINGS BESIDES PEN & PAPER! IT REALLY IS FUN! BUT BEFORE WE LEAVE … MEET OUR YOUNG WRITERS!
