Evolution of the television

The first television Philo Farnsworth invented the television tube when he was only 14. RCA and David Sarnoff sued him for the patent, lost, then won it back taking the credit. The first television cost around $55 Around 1907 the first television was thought up.

1924/25 First Moving Silhouette Images American Charles Jenkins and John Baird from Scotland, each demonstrate the mechanical transmissions of images over wire circuits. Radiovisor was a mechanical scanning-drum device manufactured by the Jenkins Television Corporation. It had a special attachment for receiving pictures, a cloudy 40 to 48 line image projected onto a six-inch square mirror.

Cathode Ray Tube Television The development of electronic television systems was based on the development of the cathode ray tube. A cathode ray tube (aka picture tube), was found in all electronic television sets up until the invention of the less bulky LCD screens. CRT’s are very bulky and are not in many households today. Some are even cxonsidered collectors items

Allen B. Du Mont Allen B. Du Mont The first commercially sold television was the set made by Allen B. Du Mont It began operation in the United States in 1946 Although NBC was known to have station-to-station links as early as 1941, Du Mont received its station licenses before NBC resumed in the postwar era their previous, sporadic network broadcasts.

First color television In 1940, prior to RCA, CBS researchers led by Peter Goldmark invented a mechanical color television system based on the 1928 designs of John Baird Between 1946 and 1950 the research staff of RCA Laboratories invented the world's first electronic, monochrome compatible, color television system Color television production was halted during the Korean war, with that and the lawsuits, and the sluggish sales, the CBS system failed. Those factors provided RCA with the time to design a better color television, which they based on the 1947 patent application of Alfred Schroeder, for a shadow mask CRT Soon following in 1953 the second color tv was released
