The Taiga Region

Information of the Taiga The Taiga is in the northern hemisphere but below the Tundra. It has many animals, trees, and mountains. Unlike most places the taiga has more nature. If you go north in the Taiga that’s when it will get rocky, mountainy, and cold. This picture shows the example. Bibliography number 2

Taiga Animals Here are some Animals the are in the Taiga: Moose Wolves Bears Bald Eagles Snowshoe Rabbit There aren’t the many animal in the taiga, but there are more than what I wrote.  Bibliography number 4 and 3

How the animals adapt The moose adapts in the Taiga because it has a thick fur to trap heat and keep it warm. It also has long antlers to fight off predators. The wolves adapt there because they also have thick fur but they also live in packs to keep themselves warm, they work together to fight and kill prey. The bear adapts to the Taiga because it has a thick layer of fat called blubber to keep it warm and its so strong it kill its prey easily. Bald eagles can adapt easily their feathers can keep them warm and bald eagles have strong and sharp talons that snatch and instantly kill their prey, but if its not dead the bald eagle will kill it by themselves. A snowshoe rabbit is lazy when it protecting itself, first it will sniff and listen out of its burrow if it smells or hears a predator it will rune back into its burrow. Bibliography number 3

Plants in the Taiga These are some of the plant that survive in the Taiga: Pine trees Lichens Mosses White spruce Douglas fir There aren’t that many plants, but more that what I wrote.  Bibliography number 3

The taiga is a very cold place, its even colder a night. When its winter I can’t even imagine how cold it is and it’s the longest season there. Autumn is the shortest season there. Summer is long but not as much as winter so it will be fairly warm. Spring is the shortest as well and all the mammals come out from hibernation. Bibliography number 4 and 3 Climate in the Taiga

If you are wondering why its so cold there look at the map, you will see its near the north pole. Bibliography number 3

Map of where the Taiga is located Bibliography number 3

Abiotic factor During six month in a year the temperature can be - 54 to -1 degrees Celsius. In the summer the temperature can get as low as -7 degrees Celsius, but the highest temperature is 21 degrees Celsius. Autumn and Spring are so short you hardy know it exists. Bibliography number 3

Human Activities Look at these activities that people are doing: Cutting trees for paper. Destroying landscape to harvest. Poaching Polluting the plants. If people stopped doing these thing then animals won’t go extinct.  Bibliography number 1
