History Halloween Whether you know, what bears in yourself this, is unfamiliar sounding for Russian ear, a holiday? Whether pagan rituals, or innocent jokes of children and the adults ready on the night of November, 1st to have fun to I will fall, dressing up in ridiculous suits and frightening each other? And meanwhile the history of Halloween is interesting, and its nobility follows, even in that case if you consider that similar celebratings only a tribute to a fleeting fashion. Roots of this strange holiday withdraw us in depth of centuries, during a pre-Christian epoch when the earths of Ireland, Northern France and England occupied tribes of Celts. Their year consisted of two parts - summer and winter. And transition of one season in another was marked by the harvesting termination, it was marked on October, 31st and symbolized the beginning of new year. The rights were entered by winter.

Night for November, 1st when under legends the border between the worlds of the live opened and dead was called as Samhejn or Samajn, was considered as the main holiday of the ancient people. Pagans Celts attached it great value and, not to become extraction of a shade dead dressed up in animal heads and skins, extinguished the centers in the houses and all frightening kind frightened off ghosts. Entertainments to spirits were exposed in the street, and inhabitants gathered at fires which were planted with the Celtic priests druids. This night in a victim brought animals, did predictions and lit the winter center, bringing in the house uvulas of a sacred flame. The tradition of celebrating was transferred from century to century until in I century of our era Romans haven't won territory of Celts.

Turned into Christian belief, inhabitants of islands of Ireland and Britain, have been compelled to refuse many pagan customs. However memoirs on Samajne continued to live and be transferred from generation to generation. And when in IX century Father Grigory III has transferred since May, 13th for November, 1st celebrating of Day all sacred, Samhejn have started to celebrate again. Night previous a holiday, in medieval English language, was called All Hallows Even (Evening of all sacred), in reduction - Halloween, and is absolutely short Halloween. Whether the Christian church aspired to revival of a holiday of pagans? Most likely, the aim of eradication of the Celtic traditions was pursued, however, coincidence of dates has led to a boomerang effect. The holiday not only has survived, but also has densely rallied in consciousness of people with church celebrating of Day of all sacred. Since then, the Halloween was marked everywhere in the best traditions of Samhejna, and night of celebrating was chosen by the witches frightening civilians.

Halloween today As one of the oldest holidays of the world, Halloween is celebrated today in many countries of the world. Not an exception and Russia where every year more and more people gives the chance to "dark" forces to take hold of itself for one night. About this holiday the set of books all over the world is written, some films and musicals are removed. Millions toys, ridiculous masks and "awful" carnival suits every year are issued. Competitions on the best lantern from a pumpkin (Jack-o- lanterns) which winners show to the world the whole works of art are held even. So in what so draws a Halloween of the modern people rather far from dense prejudices? Certainly, not all from millions the people, celebrating today this ancient holiday, trust presently in the history about dead persons, spirits and reductions.

Many, probably, singularity and staginess of Hellouina submits. Others are simply glad to an occasion to sit behind a festive table, it is good to drink, not bad to have a snack and with all the heart to have fun. But, probably, the assumption will be the most exact that this mysterious, celebratory night adults have a rare possibility playing together with children in spirits, witches and vampires, to feel as then, in the far childhood and to come back there at least for a while. For many long years the history Hellouin has found various interesting traditions in the different countries of the world, having kept the ancient distinctive features, but having incorporated local national color. How celebrate a holiday in the different countries, we have short described in this section.
