Choose Partner + Invention  Choose your invention image and check it with Mrs. Merk.  NAME AND SAVE YOUR FILE!!!!!

PowerPoint  START-PROGRAMS-MICROSOFT OFFICE- MICROSOFT POWERPOINT 2007  Save your file as:  Commercial  Now you are ready to begin!

Slide Design  Go to the DESIGN tab.  You may choose from any of the preset designs.  To search for more, click the arrows to the right.  To personalize your design more you could edit colors, fonts, or effects.

Title Slide  You first slide should already be a title slide layout.  If not, go to the HOME tab– LAYOUT  Then choose the title layout style by clicking on it.

Title Slide continued…  Include:  NAME OF YOUR PRODUCT  NAME OF YOU AND YOUR PARTNER  First and last names – see example below.

2 nd Slide - INTRODUCTION  This is where you introduce your product to your audience.  What is it?  What does it do?  What is cool about it?  Make it sound like a sales pitch, get people excited!  DO NOT INCLUDE THE PICTURE OF THE PRODUCT YET!!!!  However, go to Insert and choose a Clip Art picture that relates to your product. However, it should not be a picture of something similar to your product.  For example: if my product is Hamburger Headphones, I should not include a picture of headphones…but I could include a picture of music notes or an IPOD.

3 rd Slide – THE PRODUCT!  Include the name of your product at the top.  Insert the picture of your product here.

4 th Slide– MORE ABOUT PRODUCT  You must have 4 pieces of information in a bulleted list.  Give your information should include:  How does it work?  How was is designed / made? What is it made of?  Are there any special features about your product? Can it do something unique, funny, interesting, helpful, etc?  Does it come in variations? (For Example: other colors? shapes? sizes?)

5 th Slide- PURCHASING THE PRODUCT  Include information about buying the product.  What stores are going to carry your product?  Find a picture for this slide of a store using the internet  How much does the product cost?  Are there any special discounts or sales to get customers interested in buying it?

Slide 6 - CONCLUSION  Make a final slide thanking your "customers" for their interest in your invention/product.  Insert a movie and sound in this slide.  You find movies and sounds under INSERT tab- MOVIES or SOUNDS  Go to (FROM CLIP ORGANIZER) to get it from the computer.

Animations  You need an animation for each slide.  Go to the ANIMATIONS tab.  Choose an animation you like  If you want the same one for all slides, click Apply To All

Transitions  Your text should transition as it enters your screen during presentations.  Go to the ANIMATIONS tab again.  Click on the text or image you want to add a transition to.

Transitions continued…  After the section you are adding a transition to is highlighted, click on the drop down box next to Animate where it is already set at No Animation.  Select the animation you would like for your text/image!  Do this for all title and text boxes.

Save to the Dropbox  WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED!!!!!  Go to MENU and SAVE AS.  Click to MY COMPUTER.  Find DROPBOX on AMS.  Click on MERK and then on TECH6 for 6 th hour, or TECH8 for 8 th hour.  Save the file as “Commercial ______ and _______”, substitute your name (and your partner’s name) in the blank spaces.

PRESENT!  We will present these to each other in class!  You will be graded on:  (If you have a partner) Both people share speaking.  Good Volume – heard throughout room.  Good Pace – not rushing through slides.  You were well prepared.  All slides are correct!  Check your rubric for more details!
