On this first lesson page, student can practice their listening and view the translation. (All our course now are English-English course on English server, because we only provide Chinese, Korean, or Japanese translation and these translation are available on Chinese, Korean and Japanese server.)

Languages in pop-up windows are follow/match the client-side software language. E.g. if user download and install MyET-English version client-side software (MyET- MyCT_EN_Setup.exe), then they will see pop-up windows in English. If user download and install MyET-English version client-side software (MyET-MyCT_JP_Setup.exe), then they will see pop-up windows in Japanese. Sample client-side software is English Version.

Speaking Practice-Sentences mode  In this function, learners can practice sentence one by one, no matter how many times they need. (Translation is available in this mode if there are any.)

Speaking Practice-Role Play mode  After familiar with each sentences in “sentence” mode. Learner may move to role play mode, choose a character he/she would like to be, then interactive with another character. (This function is only available in conversation lesson)

Speaking Practice-Imitation mode  No text for learner to read, they have to listen and repeat what they just heard.

Speaking Test-Reinforcement mode  In repeating mode,  1 st drill is content read/listen/speak  2 nd drill is content listen / speak (no text)  3 rd drill is content read/ speak (no listen)  4 th drill is content listen / speak (no text)  Please refer the theory to Dr. Pimsleur's learning theory.  This is test mode, so the result will include in the score report.

Speaking Test- Self-Test mode  In this mode, learners can speak the same sentence until they get the best score, then mode to next sentence. (have to pay attention to the time left, otherwise will fail.)  This is test mode, so the result will include in the score report.

Speaking Test-Repeat mode  This is the default test mode, after listen the lesson, system will auto bring learner into this mode for test.  This is test mode, so the result will include in the score report.

Non-speaking practice  Cloze Test  System will random empty some key words in the lesson, learners have to fill in the missing words. (Just practice, show the correct answer in the end and won’t keep the score.)

Non-speaking practice  Word Bank  Learners can edit the explanation, sample sentence for the vocabulary they are learning. (concept is like wikipedia, open this dictionary to all the MyET users.)
