Lifecycle Colony Honey Pollination Jobcells

 Each colony has 3 groups  The female non-reproducing worker bees  The egg fertilizing drones  The egg laying Queen lays 5,000 eggs

 Queen- lay eggs  Drones- help eggs grow  Female Worker Bee- protect the hive and collect pollen.  House bee-put pollen in cells

The Queen can live 5 years the drone 5-6 weeks

 Only certain types of honeybees can make honey.  Bees are the only insect to make food for humans.  A House bee collects nectar from the bee that gathered the nectar from the flowers. Then the house bee chews the nectar for half an hour. Then puts the nectar in the cells to evaporate the water out of the nectar. The cells are sealed with a wax cover.

 The cells store nectar, pollen, and the babies mature in the cells.  On the outside cells the nectar is stored  On the inside the babies mature  Wax can be a lid for the nectar filled cells if needed a bee will open the lid and spray it around the hive to feed the bees.
