Basic Purpose of Deen (Religion) Religion as gifted by Allah to His creation has the sole purpose of imparting and developing the correct sense of life. It means that Deen gives the appropriate set of concepts and tools to be successful in the journey or examination of life. Thus we should view the religion in this light i.e. a life shaping influence and not as a set of rituals, customs and traditions. The focal point of teachings of all the Prophets (a.s) undoubtedly converge in the direction of spiritual development under the light of Towheed, as the essence of life.

We are at the cross-roads among several Preachers, so be careful in selling your soul, who is the buyer and where he will lead you to?? There are other preachers in this life apart from Prophets who are also inviting us towards their respective ways of life. Thus humans are offered a choice to buy either the Divine product through Prophets for their lives OR any other package ; all of which are essentially the offerings from shaitan in one way or other. Therefore, the most basic questions we must keep on asking from ourselves are:-- 1. Do we possess the proper vision of Deen and life ? 2. What is the motivating objective of deen which should bring us into action and accept it as the way of life?

Purpose of Worship or Ibada~t in the eyes of Quran and Islamic Principles Acts of worship or Ibada~t like namaz, roza, hajj and zakat are frequently mentioned in the length and breadth of Quran. Quran mentioned namaz in different contexts by around 750 times. But Roza or Soum is specifically mentioned in three verses of Sura Baqara ( ) Ibada~t are the most essential ingredients of Islamic living, But : Are these acts of worship goals in themselves OR a means towards some higher GOAL? Every Ibadat creates a particular quality which is the intended objective. Every quality leads us to attributes of Allah which we can absorb and reflect in our souls.

Verses of Quran regarding Ramazan and Roza (Soum) Sura Baqara : Verses 183 to 185 supplemented by verse 186. Roza is relevant only for momineen, but not limited to this Ummah. The decree of Roza, as ordered in this verse, combines the best of two blessings: (1) the act of fasting, and (2) Month of Ramazan which is peculiar due to descending of Quran Apparently the sole purpose of Roza is a springing hope for the momin to acquire the quality (sifat) of Taqwa (GOD Consciousness) The Fazeelat of Ramazan is that it is the container (zarf) of Nuzool e Quran. If we combine it with the verses of sura Qadr, then it means that this month encompasses Lailatul Qadr when Angels and Rooh descend upon this earth with special and unparalleled blessings from Allah with eternal peace.

Significance of Taqwa (Consciousness of Allah) Taqwa is also conspicuous as the sought after characteristic in Hajj apart from Roza. Look at the following verses: (Sura Hajj, 37) (Sura Baqara,197) So, Taqwa is the vehicle that guarantees the arrival at destination, and it is also the best provision to carry us through the journey.
