Gold Day –3/26/2015 Blue Day – 3/27/2015

Agenda  Start discussing Linear inequalities – Last topic before test News  5 th 6 weeks ends 4/10/15  Unit 4 Review will be 3/31 & 4/1  Unit 4 test will be 4/2 & 4/6  Unless I am still EOC testing, and then it would be 4/2 & 4/6, and 4/7 &4/8

Solve the following linear function word problems. 1. Diane knows a phone call to a friend costs 25 cents for the first 3 minutes and 10 cents for each additional minute. Write a linear equation to show this function. 2. Use your equation from question 1 to find the cost of a 30-minute call. 3. Nick is given $50 to spend on a vacation. He decides to spend $5 a day. Write a linear equation to show this function. 4. Use your equation in question 2 to find out when Nick will have $15 left.

 There are 3 different forms of linear equations  Slope-intercept form - ___________________  Standard form - ___________________  Point-slope form - ___________________ y=mx+b Ax+By=C y – y 1 =m(x – x 1 )

2 Times you flip the inequality 1. Move variable to the left 2. Multiply or divide by a negative number

How to graph linear inequalities Solve for y. Graph using slope and y-intercept. Solid or dashed line? Shade!! Don’t forget to flip/flop the sign if you divide by a neg. #
