Our contribution to the student experience Making a good beginning to life at Warwick, your academic success, work- readiness, long-term employability and international citizenship Student Careers and Skills: from prospective student to 3 years beyond graduation

Are there graduate jobs in 2011? 84% of top graduate employers will maintain/increase recruitment 10,665 placements for students and recent graduates 60% offering placements (6-12 months) or a vacation placement of 3+ weeks Leading graduate employers have increased targets by 9.4% in 2011, following a rise of 12.6% in % say graduates with no previous work experience have little or no chance of receiving a graduate job offer One third of graduate jobs will be filled by graduates who have already worked for their organisation Source: The Graduate Market in 2011,

What sort of jobs are they in? Of those in work, 84.4% are in graduate jobs, placing Warwick 4 th in Russell Group Warwick is 3 rd in Russell Group for salary levels, lowest average starting salary of £21,000, highest £31,000 In High Fliers Research, Warwick is 2 nd most targeted university by Times Top 100 graduate employers, second to Cambridge

Student and staff profile 22,500 students: 13,000 UGs, 9,500 PGs. UG intake of approx. 3,800 students p.a. 35% of undergraduate and postgraduate students are non-UK 30% of our staff are non-UK 78 languages spoken on campus

Employer news 4,310 adverts were placed by employers in past 12m, and 320+ regularly come to campus for fairs and other events Many employers still have vacancies, and are pursuing this summer’s graduates Very wide range of sectors: from Deloitte, KPMG to local high growth SMEs and international development organisations

External Relations Employer liaison and events –5 Careers Fairs a year, and overall 320+ employers participate each year, with 7,500 student visits –Over 80 company presentations on campus a year –21 employer sessions on selection & application process –17 Sector events, focussing on areas of student interest, e.g. marketing, public sector, HR, publishing, international development –Working with a range of 1,500 employers to engage with Warwick students

Work Experience Approximately 70% of Warwick students do work experience (excluding Warwick Volunteers) 12 month placements as part of a degree or a voluntary year out in industry Summer internships Short-term work experience, part-time work, volunteering and work shadowing All listed on myAdvantage searchable database Support in finding work experience placements and internships
