NSF Advisory Committee 11/18/2005 PAGE 2 Grants.gov Overview Is one of 24 Federal E-Government initiatives designed to improve access to services via the Internet Federal government’s single site for grants – Cross-agency initiative spanning grant programs – 26 Federal grant-making agencies – $400B or 25% of the Federal budget Is a simple, unified “storefront” for all customers of Federal grants to electronically: – Find Grant Opportunities – Apply for Grants President’s Management Agenda and Public Law – Allow applicants for Federal grants to apply for grants through a common website – Streamline and simplify grant application requirements – Reduce applicant and grantee administrative burden and costs
