Content Based Learning Social Learning By Hilda Hernandez

Lesson Introduction/Guided practice The lesson is introduced by the teacher by using a power point explaining what antonyms are. It has examples of sentences with antonyms and the teacher helps the students identify the 2 antonyms in the sentence. Then, there is a section where the students can go up to the smart board and circle the antonyms in a sentence. The teacher guides them by explaining why or why not they chose the correct answers. (ppt is on wiki) Visual, auditory, kinesthetic/tactile learners

Card Game (on wiki) Teacher hands out a card to each student. These cards contain words that are antonyms. Students will then need to stand up and find their partner (their antonym). The teacher then reviews with the students to check if they partnered up correctly. Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic

Independent Practice (on wiki) Teacher will hand out a worksheet where students will have to read a sentence and look for the antonym of the underlines word. Teacher monitors.
