Dual-Qualifying Graduate Entry degree in Scots and English Law

What is a dual-qualifying degree? What is the pattern of study? What are the fees? Other practical issues About the Course

This two/three year programme has been designed to guarantee that all students achieve the requisite benchmark standards and the accreditation requirements of both the Scottish and England and Wales legal professional bodies; Doesn’t mean you are qualified lawyer upon completion of the degree BUT means you have a ‘qualifying law degree’; Whether your degree lasts for two or three years will depend upon your future career intentions; students who intend to pursue a career at the English Bar require a 2:2 Hons LLB degree What is a dual-qualifying degree?

Pattern of Study (Full-time only) 1 st year of study 1 st Semester 2 nd year of study 1 st Semester Legal Methods Domestic Relations (Scots) Criminal Law Law and Society Public Law 2 Commercial Law English Criminal Law and Evidence English Law of Equity and Trusts 2nd Semester (Scots) Voluntary Obligations: Contract and Promise Legal Process Public Law 1 (Scots) Property, Trust and Succession (Scots) Evidence (Scots) Involuntary Obligations: Delict and Unjustified Enrichment European Union Law Summer School English Law of Contract and Restitution English Law of Property and Land English Law of Tort 3 rd year of study Honours year (if applicable)

Only available as a full time degree Semesters one and two Most classes in semesters one and two have 24 lectures spread over twelve weeks and four tutorials held every two weeks from week four. Lectures and tutorials can be scheduled any time between Mon-Fri, 9-5pm with students studying along side other Full-Time students. Summer School (between your first and second year of study) Takes place from the end of May in your first year of study to the middle of August. Taught through a mix of online lectures and on-campus lectures and seminars. Students required to attend classes on-campus in the first week of June, July and August. Must also attend examinations in August. Pattern of Study
