Although you could hear his mother yelling at him clear down to ponyboy's house. If it wasn’t for the gang, Johnny probably would have ran away a long time ago.

Just don’t forget that some of us watch the sunset too(66).” Ponyboy tries to get cherry to see that the dispute between the socs and the greasers relates to the sunset. Socs and greasers are treated differently when it comes to many things, but they still live in the same world. They still look at the same sun.
