Each Entry Needs…. One thoughtful question One thoughtful comment A question I have on this section Something I want to ask the class One thoughtful comment A point to argue How I felt about a specific thing in the book Something that benefits discussion One new thing I learned Response Writing on a topic of my choice or on a topic provided by teacher/class

Journals Write at least one new thing you learned in this chapter Draw response “Diary-type” Bring journals to life! Can be used to create plays, debates, stories, songs, art displays… Graded on effort. All who sincerely try will receive credit.

Chapters I-2 Response Topics When Ponyboy left the movie theater and was jumped by the Socs, he was deeply afraid. Describe the kinds of fears you have felt. Greasers and Socs were different from each other, and this difference caused many fights. How would you feel if you were a Greaser? How would you feel if you were a Soc? Which character you relate to? Darry’s high expectations How would you react in Cherry’s shoes at the movies?
