Physical Properties Silver colored Soft metals React readily with halogens to form ionic salts React with water, though not as rapidly as alkali metals, to form strong alkaline (basic) hydroxides All are solids at room temperature Low density

Chemical Properties Highly metallic and good conductors of electricity Fairly reactive, but not as much a an alkali metal, due to two electrons in their outer shell Calcium tablet’s reaction when dropped in water. Magnesium metal burning.
